Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athletically inclined child and discovered her love of sprinting while during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks, after her first attempt. Felix signed a contract for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003, and then enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. She set a Junior World Record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007, she won this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She always finished within the top three places of all events.
